pH and EC tell you what is in a nutrient solution, but neither tells you how clean it is. Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) measures something different: the disinfecting power of the water itself, a direct indicator of how effectively it can suppress bacteria, algae, and pathogens. A higher ORP value indicates a stronger oxidative environment and better disinfection capacity, making it one of the more useful but underused metrics for tracking system hygiene throughout a crop cycle.

The Bluelab ORP Meter delivers fast, accurate ORP readings with no probe calibration required, removing a maintenance step that other water quality testing methods demand. The replaceable ORP probe connects via BNC fitting and is supplied with a KCl-filled storage cap to keep it hydrated and accurate between uses. A 2 metre cable allows readings to be taken in awkward or hard-to-reach locations without needing to move the meter itself, and the meter also supports a Bluelab pH probe (sold separately) for combined monitoring from a single device.
